This set of two PaperArt coasters, has been carefully handcrafted by upcycling discarded newspapers collected from our local community and pre-loved comic books with characters such as Sonic the Hedgehog.
Each newspaper is cut into three strips which are then individually hand wound around a piece of wooden dowel to create a straw, before being flattened and joined at each end to roll into a variety of different size rounds to create new art forms such as these coasters.
A comicart straw has then been added as the outer layer to each coaster to add a touch of individuality and cool pop culture!
The coasters are sealed and finished off with a coat of clear gloss varnish to bring out the vibrancy of the colours.
From passion to purpose, each uniquely handmade coaster tells it’s own story and is a testament to what can be achieved by embracing our son’s wonderful Autism abilities and interests.

All products used are chemical free, water based and non toxic.
Care instructions: Wipe with a dry or lightly damp cloth only. Do not immerse in water or place in dishwasher.
