Simple, comfortable, practical and stylish, this red tweed docker hat adds chic to your hat wardrobe!  Handcrafted from beautiful Scottish tweed offcuts and lined with an upcycled silk tie, secured with an adjustable vest buckle at the back and a fitted denim sweatband on the inside, this is the hat for so many occasions.  So warm, and so sustainable!Docker hats were originally worn by dock workers.  Imagine rolling up the brim on your hat so you can see overhead hazards on a busy dock, and stay protected from the weather.  That’s a docker hat.Sizing – adult one-size-fits-all – simply adjust the strap at the back of the hat.  Only go past this one if you normally source your hats in childrens’ wear or if your head size necessitates bespoke millinery.
I upcycle natural fibres – silk, fine cotton, wool. Too many of these gorgeous fabrics end up in landfill, and its hugely satisfying to salvage a few to turn them into something someone will treasure. I source fabrics from op shops and from customers who are decluttering. The longest part of my process is the reimagining – which fabrics work best together, what creation works best for them, and what do my customers tell me they need/enjoy.
WASH Gentle hand wash in cool water, rinse carefully, and do not wring or twist DRY Dry flat on a towel in the shade IRON If you must! Use a cool iron DO NOT Tumble dry, dry clean, or bleach
