We have good news! While it was sad to see our Melbourne Central Pop-Up close, from that opportunity we have grown and learnt so much and since then we’ve been busy behind the scenes.
We are now ready for a new permanent home for in.cube8r and Australian artists in Melbourne Central, in the heart of Narrm (Melbourne) CBD.

Success of the pop-up
- More than half a million dollars in sales in 2023

What we learned
- People LOVE supporting y’all!
- Some artists needed bigger spaces
- Lower volume sellers needed more affordable spaces
- Higher volume sellers needed more storage space
- We need two team members on staff at all times
- Interstate artists need more in-store assistance from staff (restocking)
- Regular stock management is needed, especially for
- Cubers with small items & high product turnover
- More effective ways to display stock, and ways to package items to reduce waste & optimise the use of the display space
- in.cube8r’s costs go up significantly when we are busier and sell more stock
What we're planning
We are designing super-schmick fit for purpose retail space from everything we learnt from the in.cube8r pop-up:
The space itself is going to be gorgeous, but more importantly we’ve taken all your feedback into consideration while putting together the budgets & imagining a new and improved store including…
- Larger slat wall spaces to fit more product
- Cubes which will be visible from the outside of the store 24/7
- Dedicated artist alley entryway, with display cases at eye-level
- More stock storage for restocks
- Better cube signage featuring your special offers, Instagram handles & info about your products
- New improved website & mobile-optimised sales portal
- Influencer marketing campaign
- Improved processes to make restocking and stock-takes easier
Timeline
The grand opening of our new permanent in.cube8r store will be August 1st (with exclusive opening events happening in days prior).

Cube Prices
How much does it cost? The costs for this store will be a little higher than the pop-up for some spaces due to the much higher outgoings for a permanent space (mostly rent and wages) however we are trying to keep it as affordable as possible as usual!
- Spaces range from from $10 – $12 per day.
- There will be bundled pricing for cubers needing multiple spaces.
- More information will be available when registration opens.
Types of spaces available
Melbourne Central will have less variety of spaces, but more of them! At our new store you can expect to find
- Glass display cubes with lights (locked and unlocked) – most with window frontage!
- Custom designed peg walls (and we mean CUSTOM!)
- Spaces for larger items (totes, clothing, ceramics, art etc.)
- Display cases for special collections & exhibitions
What if numbers aren't met?
We don’t think we’re going to have any issues getting enough interest to go ahead, but we are a small business & therefore need to be sure we’re ready to take this massive step.
