Hello! My name is Kara Vale and I am the maker behind Vale of Chaos. I am a great lover of making a mess whilst wearing too many bangles and chains and jingling all the way down the street. I wanted to create some wearable pieces that really celebrated being a joyful mess. I work mostly with sterling silver as well as some semi-precious stones and occasionally feathers. I have training in Sculpture, Floristry, Millinery and Jewellery production and hope to combine all these learnt loves into something special with Vale of Chaos.

Vale of Chaos jewellery is for the bog witches, glamour fairies, swamp goblins, pretend archaeologists, and failed explorers of the modern world. These are pieces that are made with intense care and a reverence for the silly and the wonderful, to be treasured by delightful weirdos.

Process

I make all my pieces in sterling silver in my tiny studio in Fitzroy north. All my chains are handmade, and my pendants and rings are all sculpted in wax and cast in sterling silver. This process means that no two pieces are exactly the same!

Custom orders

Always happy to do custom orders, most pieces can be made withing a 3-4 week turnaround. A 25% deposit is required.
