Emma is at peace in the process of forging, as it provides her a deep knowledge of the materials she works with, allowing her to have less focus on outcomes and an enhanced freedom for creating unique new forms. Emma uses and specialises in flame colouring thermogenic metals, including an ancient metal alloy called ‘Shibuichi’ found in samurai swords. Colour, pattern, texture, industrial metal techniques and nature are appealing and inspiring. Emma aims to bring forward these concepts by creating bold, enjoyable and gender neutral jewellery.
