This ring forms part of my Rough Rugged Rings collection. Each of the rings in this collection is first hand carved from wax, tapering in both width and thickness, then Sand Cast in solid sterling silver. The Rough variety of my Rugged Rings collection are more organic (with textures from the sand and seem lines) than their faceted gem set counterparts. This ring has four sapphires cast in place; two yellow and two red-ish orange. These rough natural sapphires have been treated.Oxidised this ring will further darken (slowly) over time. Each ring in the Rugged Rings collection comes with a polishing cloth. This way you can maintain your desired level of patina, polishing your ring at home as needed.Finger size: J 1/2Tapering from 6 – 3mm in width, 3 – 1.5mm  in thicknessStones: Treated sapphire rough, two red-ish orange, two yellow.*NOTE* These have been treated to alter their colour. This treatment is stable and requires no extra care.
Though jewellery is durable it isn’t indestructible! Caring for your jewels is as easy as removing them before physical activities; things such as going to the gym, playing sport, swimming, moving house (lifting heavier things), gardening etc. Avoid showering or sleeping in your jewellery and do not apply perfumes directly as some organic gems may be damaged from this.

Something with Stones

Everyday Gemstone Jewellery

As a lifelong gem hoarder making jewellery just seemed like a natural progression. I enjoy working in sterling silver incorporating various natural gems in both cut and rough forms. As a rock geek (qualified gemmologist) I love all coloured stones and have a particular weakness for any gem with an interesting inclusion. My work varies between hand fabricated and cast depending on where inspiration takes me and wearability features very high in my design process.
