So… how do I create my plushies?Firstly it begins with an inspiration, maybe it’s from a show or game I’ve just played, or maybe it’s an original character I’ve doodled into the margins of my uni notes, of course it could also be a custom piece that is commissioned. During this stage, I draw up concept sketches of the charcter in front/side/back profiles – often dissecting more complex shapes into simpler shapes.Then, I do yarn colour selection! I have an entire bookself filled with a myriad of colours. And I sift through my storage containers of felt and embellishments if the design requires it.After, I get to crocheting. Crocheting is the easy part; it’s an art and craft that I feel 100% comfortable and confident it – somehow holding a crochet hook feels more natural than a pen for me!And finally… it’s the part I hate the most… sewing. Sewing is the bane of my existence haha. The final placement of limbs and accessories changes how the plushie looks!
