When I think of home in my adult years, I immediately think: “Home is where I can be under as many blankets as I want to!” Being bundled up in my blanket fortress helps the chaos of the day melt away. As the weight of the layers settles over me, my breathing slows, and my body finally relaxes. This painting is a little love letter to that simple joy – a soft, layered sanctuary filled with all my favourite things. It’s where I feel calm, safe, and completely myself – buried under a mountain of blankets, exactly where I want to be.
