Handcrafted bags in bright prints

Ms. Whimsy is the outcome of creator Lucy’s appreciation for beautiful fabrics and designs and a love of sewing. Lucy soon realized that if she sold her bags, she could buy more fabric, and if she bought more fabric, then she could sew more bags….and so the cycle began. What started in her kitchen when she was living in Washington DC, and the kids were asleep, the demand from the local moms for her tote bags (these bags hold everything and they are machine washable = super practical) fueled Lucy’s craving for sewing, and the light bulb went off – Ms. Whimsy was born. Always keen to explore innovative ideas and options and to test her sewing chops, Lucy soon introduced make-up bags and clutches to her range, and from there the collection continued to grow. Although the main business focus has been on creating beautiful bags, Lucy does like to explore other creative ideas, and has been known to dabble in macrame and creating soft textile homewares. Whether it be the classic tote, a handbag, or a large makeup bag, you can be assured that each piece is beautifully handcrafted and constructed with the highest quality materials. You won’t want to give it away.
From my early days trading in the US of A, my customers have always loved the colour and prints I have bought to my brand. They know they are buying a one-of-a-kind piece, of a high quality and I handmade each piece. And yes, handmade with love!
I spend hours curating my next selection of fabrics, looking for the right colours and patterns to introduce into my collection. This is not a complaint by any means, it’s one of my favourite parts of the process. Each print I choose must represent the brand and be able to be made into a variety of Ms Whimsy style bags, and be of the highest quality cotton. I love the whole process, starting from a length of fresh fabric and my mind buzzing with possibilities of what to make, to the sewing and watching my creation come to life. I still get a buzz as I give each item its final ‘press’ upon completion. TBH – I am often heard to mutter “i might have to keep this one”
Always happy to make customs orders – I take 50% upfront. Usually max of 1 week turnaroundPlease let them know that I may not have their preferred fabric in stock, however I always have many options for them to choose from. Also – they can provide their own fabric ( if appropriate). Please ask what style bag they are after, and I can take it from there. Thanks
